Calender of Events
Please see the upcoming sporting events we have leading up to Christmas. This is a developing calender:
29th Novemeber - Year 5/6 Mixed Bee Netball Skils Festival - BSG
6th December - Year 5/6 Football League Matches - Park School
Year 5/6 Can Do Football Festival - 22nd October - The Littledown Centre
Another amazing event by the Bournementh School Games Organiser. The AFC Bournemouth Coaches were great and our students had a big smile of their faces all afternoon. It was a great day, where we saw some children shake of their nerves and get stuck in. Once again, the students of St Michael's did us proud by putting in 100% and being polite towards the other schools.
Year 3/4 Can Do Football Festival - 15th November - The Littledown Centre
I am so proud of the students we took to this event. They worked hard as a team and supported each other and the students of the other schools. The coaches at AFC Bournemouth were a lot of fun and taught the children some key skills for playing football. I know our students had a blast. To top it off, our students won the Bournemouth School Games Trophy, awarded at the event. The AFC Bournemouth coaches chose our school because they said the students were well behaved, worked hard and put in 100% effort in all day. Well done St Michaels.
Shine Cricket Yr 2/6 - 14th November - St Michael's School
This event was definitely one of a kind. We were so lucky to have Shine Cricket come to our school to put on this event. The event got so many children active and enjoying cricket, while at the same time gaining an understanding of the hindu festival - Dawali. We can honestly say that every single child, who took part, had a brilliant time. We want to thank Shine Cricket and we can't wait to have them back.
Year 4/5/6 Cross Country - 7th November - Kings Park
What an amazing turn out. We had around 25 different children competing and having a go at cross-country. The children were extrememly excited to take part and really put in a alot of effort. As a school we did great. One of our year 4 students came 1st (again), beating over 100 students. Another year 5 student beat his score from the last cross-country, coming in 14th place. Alongside this, we had our students, who had never done cross-country before, run the whole distance, with grit and determination. We are extrmemely proud.
Year 5 Football Tournament - 12th October - The Littledown Centre
The was an amazing event, which was well organised and so much fun. The St Michael's uear 5 football squad went to the tournament full of enthusiasm and confidence. The team worked well with each other, communicating and supporting each other. Both the staff and the students had a brilliant time. Training with this team is going to be great as it is full of hard working players. Well done!
Netball League Match - 9th October - Talbot Heath
During this off-site event, St Michael's got to take their competative and friendly team over to Talbot Heath to play their first league match. We are very impressed with the skill level of our teams and their wonderful sportmanship. Both teams put up a good fight againt Talbot Health and played the best they could, never giving up. Both teams came off court with huge smiles on their faces, excited to train and get ready for their next league match.
Year 5/6 Girls Football Tournaement - 5th October 2023 - The Littledown Centre
Wow! What an incredible event! From start to finish, the children were respectful and did St Michael's proud. This was the first time the girls had played together as a team and even the first time some of them had played on a full size football pitch. The girls has a wonderful day and played extrememely well. They focused and worked hard as a team, encouraging each other and communicating as a unit. There is definitely more to come from this team.
Bronze Ambassador Leadersip Training - 4th October 2023 - The Bourne Academy
What an event! The children had such a wonderful time and learnt a variety of different games and activities. The Bronze Ambassadors are full of inspiration and very excited to share their knowledge with the other Sports Ambassadors. All this hard work is going towards making St Michael's break and lunch times more active.
Cross Country - 3rd October- The Littledown Centre
Firstly, a huge well done to all of the 29 children St Michael's children who took part. They should all be extrememly proud of their efforts and resilience throughout their race.
We especially need to celebrate how well we did at this event, we finished with a 1st place in Year 4, a 21st place in Year 5 and 25th place in Year 6. GO ST MICHAEL'S.
There was a massive turn out from a lot of school's and the event was full of supportive participants and spectators. It was so exciting that we forgot to take photos! Ooops. We're looking forward to the next cross-country event.
Year 6 Mixed Football Tournament - 28th September - The Littledown Centre
From the trials, this was the first time that the students had played together as a team and they did brilliantly. The progress they made from the first game to the last was immense. There will be some great things to see from this hardworking team.
