Safeguarding

St Michael’s Church of England Primary School fully recognises it’s responsibilities for safeguarding and child protection. We have policies in place to ensure the best possible care of pupils. These policies apply to all staff, governors and volunteers working in the school. We follow the procedures set out by the PAN Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership (PDSCP) and take account of guidance issued by the Department for Education. A copy of the Safeguarding Policy can be found on this website or can be obtained from the school office on request. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mr Nick Wills and Deputies are Mr Anthony Evans and Mrs Liz Chatfield. This conforms to Local Authority/PDSCP Safeguarding practice.
This school receives information from the Police via Children’s Services to alert the Designated Safeguarding Lead in the school when there has been an incident of domestic abuse in a household where a pupil lives.
