Maths | In maths, we will begin by reviewing our learning on fractions before completing the following units:

Science | Our topic for this term is light and shadow. By the end of the topic, children will be able to: describe how we see objects in light and can describe dark as the absence of light

Religious Education | Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) Our Big Question: would celebrating Diwali at home and in the community bring a feeling of belonging to a Hindu child? We will explore the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, and discuss the sense of belonging it brings for Hindu communities around the world. We will learn about Rama and Sita, Rangoli patterns and other customs and traditions associated with Diwali. |
Physical Education | Indoor – Net and Wall Skills – Fundamentals

MFL | French – Je peux (I can) In this unit pupils will learn to recognise, use and remember 10 common French verbs/activities. They will use these verbs in the infinitive to make a short sentence starting with je peux. |
Computing | This term, Y3 will complete their ‘Maze Project’ using Scratch. They will go on to learn techniques in Desktop Publishing. |
PSHE | In PSHE this half term we will learn about coping with change. We will discuss dealing with feelings around the changes in our lives as we get older and experience new things. |
Music | This half term the children will continue their progression with learning the recorder. They will learn the next notes and move onto more challenging songs. Concentrating on a class performance to their teacher at the end of term. |
DT | In our final DT project, Year 3 will be making a desk tidy using a 3D card net. By the end of this unit of work, the children will be able to:

Geography | This half term we will be doing a comparative study of the UK and Romania. We will look at land use and farming. |
