As an ECT at St Michael's Primary School, I have been fortunate enough to experience a nurturing and supportive environment.
I was able to grow and learn through observing a wide variety of subjects and teachers. Having regular mentor meetings and feedback, and professional development opportunities have not only boosted my confidence but have also enhanced my teaching practice significantly.
St Michael’s has a warm and friendly environment that allows you to truly flourish while making invaluable friendships with staff and children. The support I have received from colleagues, mentors, and leaders has been invaluable, helping me to navigate the challenges of my ECT years.

In my seventh year at St. Michael's, I've witnessed changes, but the core essence of our school remains constant: our incredible staff and dedicated students. Our team, from passionate teachers to supportive LSA's, bubbly office staff, reliable and compassionate SLT, and many others, forms the heart of our community. St. Michael's Primary stands out for its diversity, with over 60% of our students speaking English as a second language. We celebrate various religions and languages, creating a vibrant environment unique to Bournemouth.
Our school offers numerous opportunities, including enriching school trips and exciting sporting competitions. Specialised teachers in music, PE, and computing engage our students and foster their love for learning.
St Michael’s prioritises staff development. Over the past few years, the school has supported me in pursuing my Masters in Education.
In summary, St Michael’s Primary is more than just a place of learning; it is a vibrant community where students are nurtured, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential. As a teacher, I am proud to be a part of such a remarkable school and am excited to see the positive impact it continues to have on the lives of its pupils for years to come.

As a new teacher at St. Michael's Primary School, I've been welcomed into a warm and nurturing community that truly feels like family. From my first day, I was met with kindness, support, and a genuine sense of belonging.
One of the most striking aspects of my experience here has been the overwhelming level of support provided by both colleagues and administration. Whether it's guidance on curriculum development, classroom management strategies, or simply a friendly ear to listen, there's always someone willing to lend a helping hand. This supportive environment has not only eased my transition into the role but has also empowered me to thrive as an educator.
Furthermore, I've been impressed by the school's dedication to ensuring that all teachers have access to the resources they need to excel in their profession. I've found myself equipped with everything necessary to support my pupils effectively and continue growing in my career.
St. Michael's Primary School is more than just a place of education; it's a community where everyone is valued, supported, and welcomed with open arms. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful institution and look forward to contributing to the personal and academic growth in every student.
