W/C 16 January 2023 - 'Laws & Rules'
This week in our worship, we looked at rules and how they both help and protect us. Rules were first talked about in the Old Testament when God give Moses the Ten Commandments and we have talked this week about their importance and relevance today.
I asked staff and children how they would feel if we did not have any rules and while there was some initial excitement at the thought of freedom, there was also a lot fear at the prospect of abandoning rules altogether.
As a school, we feel rules and sanctions offer us both safety and structure. They also ensure that we can learn and live without disruption. However, we try not to be too overbearing and have too many rules as this can also cause fear and confusion.
