Hope For Food
On Thursday 12 October, 90 Year 5 children researched, prepared and cooked 20 litres of vegetable soup for the local Bournemouth homeless community. At 7pm, Miss Ridley went into the town centre to serve this alongside the volunteers at 'Hope for Food'. During the evening, 50 - 60 men and women of all ages were able to have a hot meal because of the St Michael's children. The children have been learning about the Hope for Food charity and why it is important to help others in need,
Miss Ridley took the Y5 soup we made down to Bournemouth town centre and served to the homeless community. 50-60 homeless people enjoyed the soup! Triumph!
Litter Warriors
Bella in Year 2 was tired of seeing all of the litter on the roads around school so she decided to do something about it. She wrote to Mr Evans asking if she could set up a ‘Litter Warriors’ group and this week saw their first litter pick! Bella has kindly been supported by Richard Burnett from the Rotary Club of Westbourne, who has purchased lots of litter pickers and yellow jackets for children and adults. Well done to Bella for coming up with the idea, and well done to all of her friends who helped litter pick this week.
