Stephen Spender Award

To celebrate our multilingual community, St Michael's took part in a national poetry translation competition, with KS2 pupils translating a poem from Romanian into English. Mrs Boore, our EAL Leader, planned and organised the event on behalf of the school, and many entries were submitted. The organisers of the competition were very impressed by our school's response and commended us on the achievements our pupils made. In particular, two children were highly commended and took part in an online celebration event to mark their achievement! 

Monkey World trip for Young Carers

Funded by the Rotary Cub of Westbourne, Mrs Chatfield and Mrs Graham took our young carer group to Monkey World in October. They had a fabulous day, finding out about the amazing work the team there do to rescue and rehome monkeys.
