Please see below the learning for the school closure days (Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June):
Reading - Asha & The Spirit Bird
- Read pages 120 - 142 before Friday's return to school.
- Task 1 is to Read and Doodle (for pages 120-128).
- Task 2 is to write down any curious questions you might have (for pages 129-142).
Writing - Save Our Lollipop Lady, Suzanne!
- Write a letter to our local counsellor Millie Earl to persuade her to keep Suzanne working as our amazing school lollipop lady. Remember to write the long date, use your neatest handwriting and sign off your letter accurately at the end.
- You can add a small drawing to the bottom of your letter to support what you have written.
- Extension (optional): If you wanted to make an A4 size poster to go alongside your letter, you can do this on a separate piece of paper. Make it bold, eye-catching, colourful and purposeful. We want to help save Suzanne!
Maths - Capacity, Kilometres (km) & Kilograms (kg)
- Complete the tasks attached below. You can simply write your answers on a piece of paper or on the back of your school closure booklet.
We look forward to seeing you back on Friday 26th June!
Maths - Capacity
Capacity is how much a container/area can hold.
For example, Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000.
For example, a typical sized water bottle has a capacity of 500ml.
The larger the object or space, the greater the capacity.
Maths - km and kg
'Kilo' means 1,000.
For example, 1,000g = 1kg.
For example, 5,000g = 5kg.
For example, 10,000g = 10kg.
For example, 1,000m = 1km.
For example, 500m = 0.5km.
If 1,000g = 1kg, what could 2/5kg be? Remember, divide by the denominator (bottom number), multiply by the numerator (top number).
